Armenia is undeservedly situated on the periphery of the tourist maps. When I decided to spend my vacation there for the first time, my friends were really amazed: why do you go there?
The answer is clear. Because it is warm, has tasty food, there are lot of sights to visit, it is not far to fly and Russians do not need a visa. Besides it is much cheaper than the rest of Europe. Years had passed from my first trip there and my love at the first sight turned to a constant, conscious feeling that is based on acceptance of the country like it is. This love gives me the impetus to show others true Armenia – the country I fell in love with.
I normally travel to Armenia twice a year in the end of the May and in mid-September. Who knows maybe I will do it more often. I arrange trips to Armenia for those who do not like standard routes, for travelers who prefer to see the world with a fresh eye.
I would not mumble the learned phrases of a bored guide who just thinks of getting back home. I want to show you Armenia like I saw it – a country with a great heart, open, interesting, rich in sights, hospitable, country with an amazing historical and cultural heritage. Every time I come back to the same places I discover something new in the sights which I have already seen. For me it is what makes every trip special and unique – the fact that I am interested as much as you are.
As an independent traveler with great experience, I am not fan of the standard routes from the guidebooks, although I always study them before travelling. I always try to know the country from “inside” and not from the side that is usually opened to tourists.
The main goal of our trip is to discover true Armenia, to get familiar with its culture and history, to try local delicious food, to see the immense beauty and to feel a unique atmosphere.
Our 7-day trip includes visit to Yerevan, Dilijan (“Armenian Switzerland”), Sevan lake, great ancient monasteries, including remote ones, easy trekking in the national park of Izhevan. Сlimbing to a mount Aragaz can be organized as an option and I personally highly recommend it. The trip promises to be once-in-a-lifetime experience. And for sure we are going to try national food in the right places. One should try meat in Yerevan and fish is a must on the shores of Sevan lake. Do not forget about the variety of the delicious local vines and brandies and even barbecue outdoors.
